Madelyn Postman is Joint Managing Director of Grain Sustainability, a 1% for the Planet member and a B Corp with the mission to help organizations champion people and the planet. With a background in branding and communications, Madelyn has an affinity for educational tools like Carbon Literacy training and Climate Fresk, an interactive 3-hour workshop to learn the science behind climate change.
Through two businesses and as an individual, Madelyn has been a member of 1% for the Planet since 2008. She joined the 1% Board in January 2024 as its first non-US-based board member. She is involved with her local sustainability group, Sustainable Amersham, and has nominated many environmental partners to 1% for the Planet.
With a love for building community, Madelyn is the London Community Manager for the Better Business Network. In the mornings, you'll likely find her writing a short story collection that links memoir with her family history of Chinese and Eastern European Jewish immigrants to California.
Madelyn holds a BA in Visual Arts and Art History from Brown University and an Honorary MBA from the University of West London. She lives near London with her husband—who is also her business partner—her two teenage children, a dog, a cat, a gecko, and a small (yet perfectly formed) school of fish.
