Adrienne is the Executive Director and Founder of In Good Company (IGC), a climate justice nonprofit based in San Diego. She also serves as a lecturer at San Diego State University (SDSU), where she teaches Sustainability and Environmental Sciences.
Adrienne has an academic and professional background in adult education, training, and international education. Prior to shifting professional focus to advance climate justice locally, she served in the field of international education for 18 years. She was a founding board member of the Climate Action Network for International Educators (CANIE) where she co-founded the Climate Justice Working Group and was the lead author of the CANIE Accord. The CANIE Accord guides decarbonization of the field of international education and has nearly 100 signatories representing universities, professional associations, and peak bodies around the globe. Adrienne also co-wrote CANIE’s COP26 Glasgow Paper and the Forum on Education Abroad guidelines aligning education abroad with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Adrienne studied in Querétaro, México while earning a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education from Cal Poly Humboldt, served as Peace Corps Volunteer in Bangladesh while earning a master’s degree in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute, and she holds a Doctor of Education from SDSU. She lives in the University Heights neighborhood with her wife and two unruly dogs.
