Joshua Sam Miller is an award-winning Ocean artivist, multi-instrumental composer, immersive media director/producer and ecopreneur on a mission to connect people back to the natural world through the creative arts. He creates bespoke immersive experiences that blend spatial audio with large-scale visual projections that foster relaxation, appreciation, and deeper awareness of our connection to nature. Joshua's major international touring project, Sounds of the Ocean, blends this approach with powerful recordings of whales and dolphins to deliver mindful journeys 'beneath the sea.' The project debuted at Burning Man 2019, has offered 100+ live performances across three continents and was featured at COP28, the 2022 UN Ocean Conference, COP27, COP26, the 2020 International Year of Sound, and official World Ocean's Day events at UN Headquarters in New York City. The project has been accepted to international film festivals winning awards for both its live and pre-recorded film formats including Best Musical Feature Film at Immersive Film Festivals Dome Fest West, IMERSA, Fulldome Festival and Fulldome UK. In 2019, inspired by the lineages of Nada Yoga, Western Classical, Indian Raga, Afro-Cuban Rhythm, Jewish & Sufi mysticism and Jazz, Joshua founded Embodied Sounds, a mindful music label and immersive media production company. Embodied Sounds, Inc. is a member of 1% For the Planet, working closely with non-profits worldwide to support ocean conservation and environmental health. Under Joshua's direction, Embodied Sounds has produced over 200+ sessions in twelve countries at iconic venues such as Societes des Arts Technologiques Montreal, Planetarium Hamburg, Expo City Dubai, the Planetario de Marinha and WisdomeLA, with custom events curated for international brands and organizations such as Six Senses Hotels, Patagonia, Soho House, Toskana Therme Spa, Selina Hotel, United Nations, UCLA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.
