Marketing Your Membership: Creative Logo Placement Ideas to Showcase Your Environmental Commitment

In this day and age, greenwashing is more prominent than ever. That's why we do what we do. When people see the 1% for the Planet logo, they know that they’ve found a brand that isn’t just claiming to give back, but actually doing it. It's a mark of environmental commitment people can trust. Our certification model is built on checking the receipts so consumers have confidence knowing their money supports vetted environmental organizations working to protect people and the planet.
Three things happen when a business becomes a 1% for the Planet member: The company donates 1% of sales, gets the donation certified by us and benefits from increased brand affinity and recognition with our logo. We’ve been around for over 20 years—and more than 4,800 members across 110 countries proudly display our logo on their products and services.
Our network spans 65 industries, covering everything from outdoor and beauty to apparel, technology, wellness and beyond. As a result, the 1% for the Planet logo has appeared in every corner of the world—from your local bakery to your favorite clothing brand. To highlight the power of purposeful branding, we turned to our members to see how they market their membership by getting creative with logo placement.

Logos on storefronts
In July 2024, Noah Clothing released a limited edition T-shirt in collaboration with a British artist, Shantell Martin. The 1% for the Planet logo welcomed viewers to a “The Fury of Kindness” display in its New York storefront. Once the event was over, Noah Clothing donated all proceeds to Buddy Dog Humane Society as part of its annual commitment.

Logos on accessories
This snow season, SunGod took its impact even further with the new Limited-Edition SunGod x 1% for the Planet Collection. For every Goggle Strap or Goggle Lens Protector sold, a donation went directly to 1% for the Planet.

Logos on billboards
During its Beauty Elixir campaign, Caudalie covered New York City with billboards proudly featuring the 1% for the Planet logo to inspire action for the company’s 100% Plastic Collect initiative. The beauty brand invited its audience to join in the excitement—spot the advertisement, take a photo and send it in for a chance to win a treatment at their local spa.

Logos on apparel
The KANE x 1% for the Planet recovery shoe, inspired by our “Not Just Earth Day, Every Day” slogan, underscores the collective commitment to the planet, 365 days a year. Featuring a woven logo on the heel and a quote inlaid in the footbed, the shoe was released during this year’s Earth Month and is part of KANE’s annual commitment.

Logos on retail displays
Ooni, a product line member through its Fyra 12 Wood Pellet Ovens, set up shop at a Public Lands store to showcase its impact among other businesses in the network. The in-store display featured 1% for the Planet’s logo along with a message about how to support brands that have certifications to back up their commitment.
