Through collective action and dedication, the nominees below are making a profound impact on the climate movement. Learn about each nominee below and cast your vote before August 15th.

Leadership nominees:

Avocado Green Brands: Avocado has been committed to transparency and environmental commitment since day one. To date, they've given to incredible organizations fighting against climate change, food insecurity, deforestation and more — all while diverting 78% of company waste from landfills. They certify their giving and product safety with 1% for the Planet, MADE SAFE, Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS), B Corp, Climate Neutral, Greenguard and more. Avocado makes humanitarian efforts as well, donating around 90% of returned mattresses and pillows to shelters.

Peak Design: Since their membership began in 2016, Peak Design has certified over $4M in giving—and given more than their 1% commitment. The company also co-founded Climate Neutral, a 1% for the Planet environmental partner helping companies measure and reduce their carbon emissions. Peak Design is a Certified B Corp and works with Fair Trade Certified factories. In 2021, they created the “PD Marketplace” for customers to resell their used products and prevent them from ending up in landfill.

Pukka Herbs: Pukka Herbs is an herbal health and wellbeing company, certifying over $6M in giving since 2015. Pukka is a certified B Corp (since 2016) and all Pukka’s products are organic certified—with 50% of ingredients Fair for Life and FairWild certified. Pukka has published a roadmap setting out how it will achieve Net Zero carbon by 2039 and is working to ensure zero deforestation across its herbal and packaging supply by 2025. All Pukka tea packaging is 100% recyclable, while the teabags are certified home-compostable. Pukka has funded the planting of over 1.5 million trees with TreeSisters and protects thousands of acres of conservation land in Guatemala and Vietnam with World Land Trust.

Partnership nominees:

Maine Beer Company & Wolfe’s Neck Center: Since 2018, Maine Beer Company has been a close partner to Wolfe’s Neck Center by supporting their climate adaptation, regenerative farming and sustainable agriculture education initiatives. During the first year of partnership, Maine Beer Company made a $25,000 donation to Wolfe’s Neck Center to support their transition to solar—a pivotal moment in their ability to invest in cleaner infrastructure and renewable energy. The same year led to Maine Beer Company introducing Wolfe’s Neck IPA in celebration of the partnership. The two continue a parallel growth as Maine Beer Company hosts Wolfe’s Neck Center member nights, incorporates ingredients in their kitchen and serves on the environmental partner’s board.

OXO & Big Green: Since 2020, OXO has supported Big Green with grant funds that have helped innovate and create new programs to support more people. Big Green has since expanded beyond school garden programming and created the first national home garden program—bringing gardening's health and economic benefits to homes across the United States. OXO and Big Green further deepened their partnership once they created "Little Green Chefs," a family-friendly web series that teaches recipes and preparation techniques for garden produce.

Untold Storytelling & Water First Education & Training Inc.: After three years of partnership, Untold Storytelling took their commitment to Water First one step further when they created and donated the short documentary, Paige to the environmental partner. In an effort to highlight the pressing need for safe, clean water in Indigenous communities in Canada, the film shares the story of a Water First graduate as she works to inspire the next generation of Indigenous water scientists.

Change & Innovation nominees:

Cell Signaling Technology: CST is a different kind of life science company founded, owned and led by active research scientists. Through technological innovation, CST provides global scientists with best-in-class products and services to fuel their quests for discovery. CST is the first life science member to join 1% for the Planet and has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2029. The CST team believes that good science can solve global challenges, and that all companies have a responsibility to their customers, communities, and the planet.

ICEBUG: A key member in our network, ICEBUG continues to play a role in the globalization of 1% for the Planet. Their location in Sweden has been monumental in helping our team establish footing across Europe and beyond. B Corp certified, Fair Wear member and working towards carbon neutrality, ICEBUG is innovating business models in the footwear industry by abandoning a financial growth target and radically sharing sustainability wins with other brands. This has led to the creation of a new supply chain of FSC certified natural rubber from Thailand and the Solar Rooftop Scaling program (SOLROS) for factories in Vietnam—both of which are well on the way to a 1000x effect outside of their value chain. They are transparent, responsible and loud in their movement to improve their impact on the earth.

Sway: Sway Innovation Co. exemplifies groundbreaking biotechnology innovation through their home compostable, seaweed-based materials designed to replace plastic packaging. In their first year as a member, Sway has solidified three environmental partnerships with Reef Check, Save the Bay and Fundacion Rompientes, ensuring that as their product scales, so does their impact with on-the-ground partners.
