About the Giving Circle

1% for the Planet’s Giving Circle is an opportunity for a group of individuals to come together, build their awareness of environmental organizations and take collective action to amplify the power of their giving. The Giving Circle is a great way to connect with others and learn about and support multiple vetted environmental partners focused on a specific issue or cause.

How it works

  • Giving Circle participants convene virtually over the course of three one-hour sessions using Zoom and the Grapevine donation platform.
  • Attendees get to know each other, decide on shared guiding values, learn about trust-based philanthropy and research environmental nonprofits.
  • Finally, each person uses what they’ve learned to vote on an environmental partner recipient. Individual contributions are combined into a collective donation, which is sent to the selected environmental partner.
