Accounting Coordinator

The job: 

The Accounting Coordinator supports general accounting activities including monthly bookkeeping and financial reporting, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll and benefits. Additionally, the Accounting Coordinator coordinates closely with the Certification team on both certification and accounting tasks and projects.

Reporting to the Finance & Accounting Manager, the Accounting Coordinator also works closely with the People & Culture team on employee benefits, payroll, or other topics at the intersection of HR and accounting.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support general accounting team systems, policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manage aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities, following organizational processes and timelines
  • Support AR and AP processes
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations, as assigned
  • Reply to external email inquiries
  • Support internal requests by staff
  • Support invoicing to ensure timely member payments and account deactivations
  • Support cross-functional People & Culture team in benefits and payroll management, including related aspects of employee onboarding, adjustments, etc.
  • Assist Finance & Accounting Manager with the annual external audit by gathering and providing information and documents needed for inquiries
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, developments and best practices in the accounting profession; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement process and policy changes


  • Demonstrated success managing complex accounting processes preferred Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and internal controls required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks Online required; QBO Advanced Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Knowledge of, Brex, SaasAnt, Gusto, and Salesforce preferred but not required
  • Highly responsive, detail-oriented, and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to complete projects on time and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and integrity in decision-making, consistently exhibiting a high level of professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
