Santa Rosa, CA
Founded in 1989, the Laguna Foundation is a place-based organization focused on the Laguna de Santa Rosa, a Wetland of International Importance. Our mission is to restore, enhance, and to create greater public understanding and appreciation of the Laguna so that it may remain a flourishing haven for all life.
We accomplish this mission by:
Removing invasive species and by planting tens of thousands of native trees and other native plants to restore lost habitat.
Conducting conservation science research projects to provide information to outside agencies of endangered species, native and non-native plant management, and restoration efforts.
Educating adults through our Laguna Guides course and by providing tours, open houses, and community events around the watershed area.
Creating relationships with the landscape for young children through the Learning Laguna Program - a wetlands education program which fulfills California state science and language arts standards for grades 2 t
