About Us

Modus V comes from the Latin phrase modus vivendi which means "way of life". A modus vivendi is also a mutual understanding to agree to disagree between those with differing opinions, and to live together peacefully.

So, what is Modus V all about?

Modus V is a simple idea that evolved from a simple desire: Don't allow others to identify you; identify yourself and live your own life, the way you wish to live it, as long as it doesn't hurt others or the planet.

Carl Sagan once described how looking at the Earth as a tiny dot in the vastness of space from 3.7 billion miles away made him feel: "To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

'bout sums it up, don't you think?

By showing your support for Modus V, you are creating a freethinking movement unlike any other.

You can show how an atheist, agnostic, humanist, and secularist can meet on common ground, and forget about whose label best describes whose way of life.

You can show how two religiously unaffiliated people, one secular and the other spiritual, can work together to separate church and state, without worrying about personal beliefs.

You can show how people, whether conservative or liberal, whether republican or democrat, can all listen to the smart people on this planet (clue: their title rhymes with "scientist"), instead of the wealthy people on this planet (clue: their title rhymes with "not a scientist") and act responsibly to create a healthy, sustainable planet.

You can show how we should stop listening to those who use fear to make people do crazy shit, like voting for laws that create inequality, and instead treat others like you'd want them to treat you (sound familiar?).

Look, we are all humans, and we're all different. Labels, categories, sections and dividers are great if you need to organize your room, but not so great if you need to change the fucking world.

Call yourself whatever the hell you want, and in the meantime, let's work together to make the world a better place to live in.
