Beautiful videos from our non-profit partners

‘Tis the season of giving. With the holidays and the end of the tax year lined up, this adage might strike you as being true in more ways than one.

A new study by our friends at Network for Good shows that online giving is at its strongest in the month of December. In fact, over 20% of online giving to non-profits happens on the last two days of the year! Not surprisingly, 1% members also give the most in December even as most members give incrementally throughout the year.

With giving on our minds, this is a great time of year to share your favorite causes with loved ones (read: friends, family, and colleagues). Below, we have compiled nearly 60 video stories from a breadth of approved 1% charities, many of whom have received funding from 1% members. Enjoy!

Another Banner Year!

A note from 1%’s Terry Kellogg-

2010 was a banner year for 1% for the Planet.

We released our debut album, co-produced a  short film, and touched 100 million people with our message through web, media and product presence. We also added a record-breaking 486 new member companies.  And despite the challenging economic backdrop, 1% member companies donated more than $20 million to approved environmental non-profits, a 30% increase since 2009.

In 2011, we will focus on deepening connections between companies, environmental organizations and individuals in the 1% network.  We will build tools to help 1% members and NGOs connect and share resources.  We will also pilot new programs including regional network expansions and additional issue-based funds.

To continue our momentum, we need your help.

Your financial support will help us reach our ambitious 2011 goals while continuing build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.
