1% FTP Welcomes Wilhelm Visual Works

We’re very happy to announce that Wilhelm Visual Works is a proud new member of 1% for the Planet, pledged to contribute at least one percent of annual revenues to qualified non-profit partners committed to creating a healthy planet.

Brett Wilhelm, the owner, is a photographer, videographer and technology specialist working regularly for a variety of national clientele including ESPN’s XGames, Sports Illustrated, the NCAA, and many more. Wilhelm specializes in action/adventure sports and environmental storytelling with occasional forays in to travel and food photography.

“As an environmental science graduate that years ago somewhat accidentally derailed into a wonderful career in visual communications, joining OPP is a daily reminder to not only use my skills to better the planet, but also share in any business successes to fund the fine work of nonprofits helping to protect the places I call home. While documenting action and adventure sports will remain a foundation of the business, a return to environmental storytelling will be a primary focus over the next few years. In this world of social media and viral sharing, compelling content will always find a home, and thus pictures and video are more important than ever in effectively communicating some of the planet’s most pressing issues. Visual storytelling is my power for the planet.

While my small business financial contributions will undoubtedly pale in comparison to the fine example set by industry leaders under OPP’s umbrella, according to the 2008 SBA census, US small businesses represent approximately 46% of US GDP, and thus small entrepreneurs collectively possess great influence and financial strength to positively impact the planet. I encourage everyone in my network, businesses both small and large, to take the pledge and help give back to protecting planet Earth.”
