Help West Virginia Rivers Coalition Prevent Future Chemical Spills!
By now we’ve all heard about the devastating chemical spill that’s affected drinking water for residents in and around Charleston, West Virginia. This recognition of the tainted water is partially due to the media outreach that West Virginia Rivers Coalition has been conducting. WVRC—one of our nonprofit partners—has been chronicling the disaster since the initial spill and now needs your support. WVRC urgently needs to raise $12,500 to support their independent team of lawyers and scientists so they can further learn about the spill and to aid in reforming chemical policy in the state.
From their website: “Today, WVRC is the statewide voice for water-based recreation and clean, drinkable, swimmable, and fishable rivers and streams—from the headwaters to wherever water flows in West Virginia. We’re also the West Virginia state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation.” Click here to make a donation and allocate part of your annual 1% of sales commitment to help support the fight to protect rivers and water sources in West Virginia.
