Chrysalis Changemakers Program

If you don’t like the way the world is, you have an obligation to change it. Just do it one step at a time. A lot of people are waiting for Martin Luther King Jr. or Mahatma Gandhi to come back – but they are gone. We are it. It is up to us. It is up to you. (Marian Wright Edelman)

Building a better world is an ongoing journey and we do our best to be worthy of following in the footsteps of greatness. Change is now up to us, but it is also our responsibility to ensure that successive generations can continue after us. At an event organised by Bridge Global to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, Ākāśa Innovation spoke to passionate young people about social entrepreneurship and how they could take their own steps to create radical transformations.

We are currently living an age of crises; we have already passed many social and environmental tipping points and continuing this trajectory will cause irreparable damage to people and planet. In shaping our own response, Ākāśa Innovation recognised the need to prepare the next wave of changemakers to face these challenges and continue to build sustainable futures for all. We created our Chrysalis Changemakers Program to inspire and empower young people in London. The first stage of the program is an experiential training course, in which our sustainability experts help new changemakers see the world anew and develop competences needed to promote sustainability. The second stage of the program offers opportunities to these new changemakers to apply these new skills and understanding by working alongside our sustainability experts in creating transformational change within organisations.

If you are a passionate young person interested in becoming a changemaker and working in the field of social and environmental sustainability, Ākāśa Innovation is looking to you to join our first intake of the Chrysalis Changemakers Program in Spring 2014.

One step at a time. It is up to you.
