Solamante in the Valencian Central Market, Spain
Good Morning!! Today Solamante bags are going to show you a bit of the “Mercado Central de Valencia” (Spain).
|Mercado Central de Valencia|
Our Arache and Azure shopper bags are ideal for this occasion.
The Valencian Central Market is located in Valencia’s city centre and is one of the largest fresh food markets in Europe. This spectacular modernist building was designed in 1914, and although it was not inaugurated until 1928, a market has been held on this spot virtually every day since the XIII century. It’s architecture is perfectly in tune with the aesthetics of the rest of the square which also includes two other historically important buildings: La Lonja de la Seda (the silk exchange) and the Iglesia de Los Santos Juanes (which is a church).
Today the market is very well known and has a great reputation for the quality, variety and freshness of its’ products as well as the helpful, personalised service provided by its traders. It’s a real experience to do your shopping among it’s almost 400 small traders who are housed within it’s 8,160 square meters of floor space. More than 1,500 people are involved in facilitating it’s daily trading activities.

One of the things that we like most about this Market is that if you feel hungry, as you inevitably will, after seeing and smelling all of the wonderful food on offer there are plenty of places where you can buy an “almuerzo” (a snack between breakfast and lunch) to help you feel energised again. Whether it is a “bocadillo de calamares” or a plate of “patatas bravas” with a really cold beer and some olives or the best orange juice you’ve ever had – you can be sure that every single calorie will be worth it until !
Having some fruity drink: strawberry, melon and apple
With regard to food, almost anything is possible inside this lovely building where the beauty of the fresh products and the friendliness of the people makes it the “must -visit” place to experience in Valencia and if you are lucky enough to have your Solamante market basket with you then there will be almost no limit as to how much of it you can take away home with you!.
